About Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)

D Y Patil Deemed to be University School of Architecture, Navi Mumbai is approved by the Council of Architecture, with a COA institute code of MH-16. The School of Architecture operates under the D Y Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai, with NAAC accreditation of ‘A++’ grade and an all India NIRF ranking of 88 in 2019. Established in 1992, the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program was introduced. Initially, the School of Architecture was administered by Ramrao Adik Education Society under the DY Patil Group and was affiliated with the University of Navi Mumbai with approval from the Council of Architecture.

Eligibility

  • Eligibility criteria as per COA Minimum Standards 2020:
  • No candidate shall be admitted to the architecture course unless they have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate or passed a 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Qualifying Examination: NATA Examination as per COA Minimum Standards 2020.

Duration
  • The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) is a 5-year full-time program, guided by COA Minimum Standards 2020, and follows the NEP2020 Integrated framework.

Ar. Nikhil Divekar
An architect professional, specialized himself in architecture lighting design, director of AIMS Pvt. Ltd; an independent specialized lighting consultancy firm, Mr Nikhil Divekar is one amongst the young & talented lighting consultants based in Mumbai. He is certified member of International association of lighting designers (IALD) & Indian society of lighting engineers (ISLE).
Mansi Sahu
Mansi Sahu is the co-founder of Mumbaibased StudioPOD, a city planning, urban design, and architecture firm established in 2013. Mansi’s focus lies in creating innovative, sustainable, community driven and dynamic urban places for people, while working extensively with the local communities, city governments, private developers, public agencies, and stakeholders. Mansi has a Master of Science in Architecture & Urban Design from Columbia University, in the city of New York, USA and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Dr.D.Y.PatilCollege of Architecture, University of Mumbai, India.
Dharmesh Thakker
Dharmesh did his graduation from Dr. D Y Patil College of Architecture in 2007 followed by Post graduation studies at University College London. Currently he is a Senior Associate at Serie Architects (A London – Mumbai –Singapore office) where he leads the portfolio of institutional projects. Some of the ongoing projects managed by Dharmesh are a master plan project with educational & medical facilities in Pune, a high-rise school in Mumbai & an automobile technical skills development centre in Chennai.
Gautam Bhasin
Gautam started his career as an architect working for a Mumbai architectural firm. He specialised in overall building design and discipline coordination. He then diversified into façade engineering and has since been involved in the design and environmental analysis of curtain wall systems, window systems, cladding systems, skylights and canopies. Gautam has managed the façade design, procurement and installation process on projects across Asia, where his role has been to assist in client in integrating the design and procurement process to achieve the technical and budgetary milestones.
Snehal Jagdale Surve
Ar. Snehal Jagdale Surve, is a co-director of Alternate Angle Consultants Pvt. Ltd. – a full-service architecture and planning firm based in Mumbai. She belongs to the 3rd Batch of our College from 1994-1999. After graduating from architecture, she worked in India for couple of years, before moving to USA to pursue masters in Urban Planning from University of Cincinnati. She worked in the US for few years after completing her master’s and then moved back to India in 2007 to set up her practice in Mumbai.
